The Palm Beach County
Chapter of the Florida A&M University Alumni Association provides scholarships to students to help support
them in their quest to further their education. We are requesting donations for the calendar scholarship drive. Scholarships
and amounts are given at the
discretion of the Scholarship Committee.
Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) was founded on October
3, 1887. The school
began with fifteen students and two instructors. FAMU is located in Tallahassee, FL. FAMU is one of eleven institutions in Florida State University System. The University has always been an institution that provides higher learning, striving towards a greater height of academic excellence. In 1997, FAMU was
awarded the “College of the Year” by Time Magazine. In addition to academic excellence, the FAMU Marching “100” Band continues
to perfect its legacy of excellence. In August 1992, the “100” was labeled the “Best Marching Band
in the Nation” by Sports Illustrated Magazine and played at halftime in Super Bowl XLI on February 4, 2007.
Receipt of all donations must be by October 25, 2009 .
